Pocketful

Terms of use

Draft. These terms are not in effect yet and will be reviewed by a lawyer before the app is released.

These terms apply to the Pocketful app, sold on the App Store by Lucent Enterprises Ltd. ("we"). Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies. If these terms and Apple's agreement disagree, Apple's agreement applies to the license of the app.

What Pocketful does

Pocketful identifies a coin from a photo of its front and, if you take it, its back. Each answer says how sure it is: identified, probably, can't tell from this photo, or not a coin.

An identification can be wrong. Check important coins with a catalog, a dealer or a grading service before you buy, sell or rely on them. Pocketful does not grade coins, does not authenticate them, and does not show prices yet.

Free identifications

Your first 3 identifications are free. An answer of "can't tell from this photo" does not use one, and neither does an error.

Pocketful Pro subscription

Fair use

Use Pocketful to identify coins. Do not try to get around the free-scan count or the limits, overload the service, or use it to send photos that are not of coins or similar objects. We may limit or stop the service for anyone who does.

Your photos

Your photos stay yours. You give us permission to send them to our server and to OpenAI only to identify the coin, as the privacy policy explains.

Changes to the app and these terms

We may change Pocketful and these terms. If a change affects your subscription, we will tell you in the app before it applies. A price change for an existing subscription follows Apple's rules, including asking you to agree when Apple requires it.

Liability

Pocketful is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for losses that come from relying on an identification. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under the consumer law where you live.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. Courts in British Columbia decide any dispute, except where the law of the place where you live gives you the right to use its courts or its consumer protection rules. Nothing in these terms takes away those rights.
